If you are not on main drains but have a cesspit, it is worth checking by visual inspection that it has been recently emptied. 

Slow running water or water draining slowly can be an indicator that your cesspit needs to be emptied. 

Sink, basins, showers and baths

If the water is not draining, you can attempt to remove a blockage by using a sink plunger. Ensure the plug hole is free from obstructions, place the plunger over the plughole, and push down several times to attempt to force the blockage to be loosened and washed away.

There are chemicals available to assist in the removal of a blockage although these should be used with caution.
